This european styled comic book is the work of writer Eric Corbeyran and illustrator Djilalli Defaux. Some elements featured in this narrative arc differ from the ingame story.
Having escaped Abstergo thanks to Lucy, Desmond joins the Assassins in their struggle against the Templars. Betrayed by patient 13, jealous of Desmond’s status, the Assassins must soon escape, leaving leave Rome hideout for Monterrigioni. On the way to Monterrigioni, Desmond connects to the Animus and uncovers the story of Aquilus, a Roman citizen who was already fighting those who weren’t named “Templars” yet.
During the travel to Monterrigioni, the Assassin’s encounter several Templars ambushes. Desmond understands there is a traitor in the team, but his fellow Assassin’s refuse to acknowledge this eventuality…
